As anyone associated with the environmental industry knows, the industry has been undergoing considerable changes over the past few years. These changes have included consolidation of companies to augment capabilities for providing clients with value-added, cost-effective services. Tetra Tech NUS is a product of this consolidation and evolution of the environmental industry. As a member of the Tetra Tech family of companies, we have access to approximately 9,000 personnel in more than 350 offices worldwide. The chronological history of acquisitions, which have grown and strengthened the capabilities of Tetra Tech NUS, is presented in the following table. NUS Corporation (Nuclear Utility Services Corporation) was founded in 1960 as a nuclear utility consulting /engineering firm offering a wide range of environmental services. In 1967, NUS Corporation acquired the Cyrus Wm. Rice Company, a pioneer in water treatment and laboratory services. In 1980, NUS Corporation was acquired by Halliburton Company and renamed NUS Environmental Corporation. In 1981, NUS Environmental Corporation acquired Penn Environmental Services. In 1993, Brown & Root Environmental was formed through the merger of Halliburton NUS Environmental Corporation with Brown & Root, Inc., another Halliburton Company. In January 1998, we became Tetra Tech NUS through Tetra Tech, Inc.'s acquisition of Brown & Root Environmental. Throughout the changes in company ownership, Tetra Tech NUS has remained a leader in the environmental field providing environmental consulting, engineering and remediation services, with a staff of more than 500 experienced personnel. |
